KGFH is a Tanzanian Non-profit,

Non-Political, Non-Religious, Charitable Organization, among the Civil Society family, in the category of a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO/Foundation), headquartered in the City of Arusha at Kisongo, about

5 km West of Arusha Airport.

 

Operations of KGFH are of National Level-Tanzania Mainland. It was established in June 2019 with certificate of registration number 00NGO/00010204, under Non-Governmental Organization Act, 2002.

Among the founder members, most of them have worked with or in the rural communities, and have experienced the type of life, the hardships, vulnerability and groups of disadvantaged people in those areas. The remote rural areas face shortage or lack of social services e.g. long distances to water source, to health facilities and to schools. They also face poor communication including: road communication, public transport etc.

 

There is a serious problem of gender disparities related to or inculcated in men to condone gender violence, FGM, infringement of human rights and property rights. The organization is desirous of serving, stimulating and assisting people to actively be involved in problem solving toward achieving their socio-economic development and environmental challenges.

 

The organization intends to establish capacities in communities and have funds from like-minded people who genuinely wish to help communities to turn challenges into opportunities for their planned and or intended objectives based on construed vision and mission.

 

The organization shall uphold an integrated/multi-sector approach with 5 priority areas namely; Education, Health, WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) Environmental Management, all underpinned by empowerment and advocacy. This prioritization is by ranking, without giving up the need and the importance of other sectors. However, with the priority sectors we actually target; the disadvantaged, the vulnerable, the poor and the needy.

 

We have our three year strategic plan finalized which gives strategies and targets on every objective and approaches for services to the targeted groups. Inasmuch, considering each sector we again prioritize them e.g. the education sector would be the top most for resources given the pathetic situation of pupils specifically girls.
